The Second Thread is a small business in the heart of Hurstpierpoint, Sussex. We buy and sell quality pre-loved clothing & footwear for Women and Children.
We are Xa and Hannah. We have come together to build and launch The Second Thread, drawing on experience from our different work backgrounds and a shared passion for clothing, sustainability, and our love for local community.
We met in the school playground whilst our little ones were in their Reception class. Now that they are ‘not so little’, what started as a small conversation has now grown into a reality. We are excited to share with you our newest ‘baby’, and our hope is that it grows and inspires you and your families!
We are passionate about small business and a thriving highstreet so we have chosen to have our shop in Hurstpierpoint so it is accessible for the local community - we can’t wait to meet you and have a chat!
We’re all about giving clothes a second life, keeping them out of landfill, and making the circular economy accessible for everyone. Simply pass your pre-loved items to us and we’ll take care of the rest — from photography and pricing to listing and selling. You earn money, and your clothes find new homes with people who’ll love them just as much as you did.
We love good quality clothing, whether that’s well-known brands, designer labels or vintage! We aim to sell clothing in season, to ensure we’re not holding on to beautiful stock for too long.
